To the world at large, Doc Nite Owl is a strange, mysterious figure. Little is known about his early years. What is known is that at a young age he was trained in the dark art of cartooning. The rest of the story is shrouded in mystery.

A master of disguise, he often takes the persona of a mild manner political cartoonist Frank Cammuso. Working for the Syracuse Post-Standard newspaper, Cammuso wages a never-ending battle for truth, justice and cheap laughs.

Throughout the years his cartoons have been seen in The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today and Newsweek. His fiction and satire have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Village Voice, Slate, and on National Public Radio.

He’s the co-author, with Hart Seely, of the book "2007-Eleven and Other American Comedies".

Cammuso is also the Eisner nominated creator of the comic book series Max Hamm Fairy Tale Detective.

Cammuso was last seen in Syracuse, New York.
